US Lawmakers Weigh UN Treaty on Disabled Jul 12th 2012, 17:15 CAPITOL HILL — American lawmakers are pressing for U.S. ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Many legislators see the pact as a global extension of a landmark federal law protecting disabled Americans at home.
