Armed militants in Tajikistan who recently fought deadly clashes with security forces have refused to disarm or hand over a former opposition warlord wanted by authorities despite a tense cease-fire. 14 Killed in Uganda Ebola Outbreak

Health officials say the deadly Ebola virus has killed 14 people in western Uganda. Joaquim Saweka, the World Health Organization representative in Uganda said Saturday there were 20 reported cases in Kibaale district, nearly 200 kilometers west of the capital, Kampala. There is no cure or vaccine for Ebola, which manifests itself as a hemorrhagic fever, is highly infectious and kills quickly. In 2000, Ebola killed more than 200 Ugandans.

Chinese officials have scrapped plans for an industrial waste project after more than 1,000 protesters in the coastal city of Qidong took to the streets where they overturned cars and invaded government offices.
