The annual list, released Tuesday by The Hill newspaper, is based on financial disclosure forms filed by the lawmakers. Issa, who earned his fortune in the car alarm business, has a minimum net worth of $355 million. He takes over the top spot from Texas Republican Congressman Michael McCaul, whose wife comes from the family that runs Clear Channel Communications and has a net worth of at ...

The United States has reopened its embassy in Yemen, two weeks after it was closed due to a security threat. The U.S. mission in Sana'a was among 19 embassies and consulates closed, following a worldwide alert that said al-Qaida could be planning attacks.
