Expert: Ghana's Political Parties Creating Tensions
Aug 14th 2013, 23:15, by webdesk@voanews.com (Peter Clottey)

Senior officials of Ghana's ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) are creating "Irresponsible animosity" in the country, according to the executive director of the Media Foundation for West Africa. "Their mode of propaganda is made up of attacks on each other, insults [and] creating animosity where there is none," said the foundation's Kwame Karikari. "What they have done over the years is that because there are so many radio stations, they ...

Brain 'Folds' May Predict if Drugs Will Help Psychosis
Aug 14th 2013, 23:23, by webdesk@voanews.com (Reuters)

Brazil Braces for Swarms of Business Jets at World Cup
Aug 14th 2013, 22:14, by webdesk@voanews.com (Reuters)

Non-commercial aircraft are expected to carry as many as one in nine international visitors to the World Cup in Brazil next year by some estimates, but industry leaders say the country is unprepared for the oncoming swarm.   Desperately needed new airstrips will not be ready in time for the tournament and air-traffic plans at crowded airports are still unresolved, said executives in Sao Paulo this week for LABACE, the world's second-largest business aviation conference.   ...

Crippling Debts, Bankruptcies Brew Vietnam Coffee Crisis
Aug 14th 2013, 22:24, by webdesk@voanews.com (Reuters)

Desks are empty, the office silence broken only by a handful of staff chit-chatting or playing on cellphones. It's another slow day at the headquarters of Vinacafe, a state-owned firm once the vanguard of Vietnam's coffee export boom.   "There's no one here for you to talk to," a receptionist said when asked who was in charge at the Vietnam National Coffee Corporation in Ho Chi Minh City, the hub of an industry that produces 17 percent of the world coffee output.   The ...
