Voting in the U.S. presidential election has ended in several states in the closely contested race between President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney. The first projected results have Obama, a Democrat, winning three electoral votes and Romney with 33 Electoral College votes. The projections say Obama won the state of Vermont, while Romney won Indiana, Kentucky, South Carolina and West Virginia.
