New Syrian Fighting Despite UN-Backed Truce Oct 28th 2012, 12:01 Opposition activists say Syrian fighter jets have bombarded suburbs of Damascus.   The attack Sunday comes on the third day of what was to be a four-day holiday cease-fire between the government and rebels.   The U.N.-backed truce declared for the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha is largely in tatters.
