Dozens of tornadoes ripped across the central United States early Sunday, killing at least five people in Oklahoma.
Officials in Oklahoma say the deadly tornado hit the state's northwestern town of Woodward. As many as 60 tornadoes were reported late Saturday into early Sunday in Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and Oklahoma.

The tornadoes brought down power lines and damaged homes and public buildings.
The National Weather Service issued an advance warning for a high risk of severe weather Saturday, but the tornadoes still caught some communities by surprise.
Weather officials say severe weather is possible Sunday from the southern state of Texas into Arkansas and north towards the Great Lakes, approaching the Canadian border.
