US to Provide Extra $195 Million in Aid to Syrian Rebels Aug 7th 2013, 22:33 U.S. President Barack Obama says the United States is providing an extra $195 million in humanitarian aid for those affected by the Syrian conflict. A U.S. statement Wednesday said Mr. Obama is timing the new aid to coincide with Eid al-Fitr, a holiday marking the end of Ramadan, Islam's holy month of fasting.
