6.9 Magnitude Earthquake Hits China Apr 20th 2013, 00:43 A magnitude 6.9 earthquake has struck the western Chinese region of Sichuan. The U.S. Geological Survey says Saturday's quake was centered 115 kilometers northwest of the town of Leshan. It occurred at a depth of 16.4 kilometers below the surface. There were no immediate reports of damage or injury. A 6.9 magnitude quake is capable of causing severe damage.
