Syrian Rebels Reportedly Seize Northern Air Base Jan 11th 2013, 12:26 Syrian activists say rebels have taken full control of Syria's main military air base in the north after several days of fighting. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported the takeover of Taftanaz air base Friday. The report could not be independently verified because Syria does not allow foreign reporters within its borders.
