Holocaust Victims Mourned at Auschwitz and Elsewhere Jan 27th 2013, 20:11 Holocaust survivors, politicians and religious leaders marked International Holocaust Remembrance Day Sunday with solemn prayers and warnings to never let similar tragedies happen again.  Events took place at sites including Auschwitz-Birkenau, the former death camp where Hitler's Germany killed at least 1.1 million people, mostly Jews, in southern Poland.
