Commission Set Up to Probe Gang Rape in India Dec 26th 2012, 10:59 Indian authorities have launched a special investigation intothe gang-rape and brutal beating of a 23-year-old medical student, an attack that sparked widespread protests. Government spokesman - Finance Minister P. Chidambaram - announced Wednesday that a judicial commission had been set up to review the police response to the December 16 attack in New Delhi.
