'Dallas' Star Larry Hagman Dies at 81 Nov 25th 2012, 14:42 Larry Hagman, the actor who won international fame with his portrayal of the amoral oilman J.R. Ewing in the television series Dallas has died at the age of 81. Hagman died Friday in a Dallas, Texas hospital from complications of cancer. The Dallas series hit television screens in 1978.  It was seen in 57 countries.
