Islamic Extremists Seize Town in Northern Mali Sep 1st 2012, 21:47 Islamic extremists have seized a town in northern Mali, close to government-controlled territory. Witnesses in Douentza say members of the group calling itself the Movement for Unity and Jihad in West Africa entered the town early Saturday morning and disarmed a local militia.
