Tropical Storm Isaac Takes Aim at Hispaniola Aug 24th 2012, 11:21 Tropical Storm Isaac is expected to dump heavy rains Friday over Hispaniola, the island shared by the Dominican Republic and Haiti. The U.S. National Hurricane Center says the maximum downpour could be more than 50 centimeters, which could cause life-threatening flash floods and mudslides. The center says a hurricane watch is in effect for Haiti, a nation still recovering from a devastating 2010 earthquake.
