Men Convicted of Beating Mali Leader Sentenced to 6 Months Aug 29th 2012, 13:25 Six men convicted of severely beating Mali's interim president have been sentenced to six months in prison for the attack. A judge convicted and sentenced the men during proceedings in the capital, Bamako, on Wednesday. The men were part of a group that broke into the office of Interim President Dioncounda Traore on May 21 and beat him until he was unconscious.   Traore went to France for medical treatment and stayed there for two months.
