Weightlifter Among Female Athlete Majority on US Olympic Team Jul 19th 2012, 18:49 For the first time ever, female athletes outnumber the male athletes on the U.S. Olympic team. There are eight more female Olympians than male Olympians on the U.S. team this year, the 40th anniversary of a federal law known as Title IX. That law has helped provide equal opportunities for female athletics and Olympian Holley Mangold says it has influenced her entire life.
