South Korea Still Considering Resumption of Whaling Jul 24th 2012, 10:05 SEOUL — South Korea's government says it has not abandoned the possibility of resuming whaling despite international criticism. The country's Land, Fisheries and Maritime Affairs Ministry informed lawmakers Tuesday it is studying whether the country should engage in what it terms "scientific research whaling."
