AU Budget for 2013 Relies Heavily on Foreign Partners Jul 16th 2012, 13:44 ADDIS ABABA — Africa leaders meeting at the African Union summit in Addis Ababa have approved a new $280 million budget to finance the AU's operations in 2013. Much of the budget is financed by foreign partners and the AU is considering new strategies to become more self-reliant, including imposing continent-wide levies.
