UNESCO and its partners want the international community to do more to protect children caught in conflict and to provide them with access to education. In recent years, more than two million children have been killed and six million disabled in wars around the world. Today, conflicts are keeping tens of millions of young people from going to school. Many have physical or emotional injuries that make it hard, if not impossible, for them to learn.
