Egypt's New President Vows to Respect Constitution Jun 30th 2012, 11:25 Islamist Mohamed Morsi has been sworn in as Egypt's president, marking a new chapter in the history of a country that elected its first civilian president. Morsi took the oath of office Saturday in an inauguration ceremony at Egypt's Constitutional Court.  He vowed to respect the constitution. He succeeds former president Hosni Mubarak, who was ousted in a popular uprising last year. Morsi is expected to address the nation from Cairo University later Saturday. His ...
